Mount everest has suffered increasing pollution over decades, with climbers leaving behind not only garbage, but also fluorescent tents, empty gas canisters and human excrement. China has closed its mount everest base camp and the area just beyond it to tourists for the foreseeable future, with authorities blaming a growing waste and garbage problem on the mountain. There are still about 30 tons of garbage on the mountain, abc reported.
